Start with a video to introduce the sounds. Hearing and seeing the words in action builds confidence before reading independently.
Each theater has matching flipbooks right on the same page — watch the video then practise reading the same words straight away. No switching needed!
Videos are great for group time in the classroom or at home! Pause and ask students to sound out a word before the video shows the answer — a little suspense goes a long way.

Timmy Riday holds a degree in Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Originally from the United States, Timmy has lived and worked in Asia as a primary school English teacher for nearly twenty years.
Timmy believes that when children are interested in English, learning becomes second nature. With this in mind, he incorporates songs, chants, dialogues and other activities to make the classroom experience lively and energetic.
When Timmy came across Shala Books, he was excited about creating videos for young learners to study the basics of English pronunciation and reading skills. These videos are exclusively available here on Phonics Playground, and Timmy looks forward to a long-lasting creative partnership.
